Senior iRest Trainer: Robin Carnes

Robin Carnes is an Integrative Restoration (iRest®) instructor who worked for six years as part of a multi-disciplinary Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment program at Walter Reed Medical Center and served as the lead instructor in the Department of Defense’s study of iRest Yoga Nidra for service members with PTSD. Her pioneering work using yoga and meditation to combat stress and trauma was honored by the Smithsonian Institution and has been featured in magazines and newspapers, including the Washington Post and Yoga Journal, as well as in the award-winning documentary Escape Fire: the Fight to Rescue America’s Healthcare. Robin is a co-founder of Warriors at Ease, a nationally-recognized non-profit that serves military communities with yoga and meditation. She is a Certified Yoga Therapist and a Senior iRest Teacher and Trainer. She lives in Silver Spring MD where she has a private yoga therapy practice.
