What is Mindfulness?

I am a human being, not a human doing. Don’t equate your self-worth with how well you do things in life. You aren’t what you do. If you are what you do, then when you don’t…you aren’t. –Dr. Wayne Dyer

Mindfulness is the innate technology of tuning into the details of your experience with each present moment; it may show up through the way you nourish your body, participate in relationships, and celebrate each moment of your life. All in the simplicity of being present.

A basic human capacity of paying attention to the present moment with intention in a non-judging way. Mindfulness supports one into being less reactive and effectively responding to the present moment need. There has been an abundance of scientific research on mindfulness demonstrating that the mechanisms of being mindful produce not only relaxation, but also prominent shifts in cognition, emotions, and behavior that work collaboratively to improve health. Research is also beginning to prove that attitudes of compassion, acceptance, and greater attention refines self-awareness and facilitates resilience which can help relieve one from suffering generating optimal health and wellbeing.

Mindfulness is the way you show up in the world. Mindfulness is the choice to not participate in the toxic trend of the world.
